Collaborating to Train Regenerative Technical Assistance Providers
Technical assistance is one of the most essential ingredients as producers transition to regenerative agriculture. Across the country, though, the demand for technical assistance vastly outstrips the supply, and very few technical assistance providers have received training in regenerative principles and practices. In 2023, TomKat Ranch Educational Foundation teamed up with the San Mateo Resource Conservation District, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Point Blue Conservation Science, Carbon Cycle Institute, and Western Sustainable Research and Education to help develop a pilot training program to change that. In this talk you’ll learn more about this exciting collaboration and the curriculum that was created for a 4-day Regenerative Agriculture and Conservation Planning workshop.
This workshop will be led by Kevin Watt.
Kevin Watt is a regenerative agriculture consultant that supports individuals and organizations growing food systems that are socially, spiritually, environmentally, and economically regenerative. Kevin’s work focuses on the importance of personal development and the thoughtful integration of technology to enhance human understanding of complex ecosystems. Kevin has worked on leading regenerative farms and ranches across the United States including TomKat Ranch in California, Polyface Farm in Virginia, and The High Lonesome Ranch in Colorado.
The intended audience is technical assistance providers, advocates for conservation and regenerative agriculture, and funders.
