The Ambrook Method: Mapping Profit to Practice

The Ambrook Method: Mapping Profit to Practice

Regenerative agriculture relies on diversity to build resilient systems. That diversity is a strength, but it also makes farms harder to track financially. In this session, Ambrook’s Aryn Young will demonstrate how to break your farm or ranch down into its constituent enterprises, and why doing so matters. Because many regenerative farms are actively experimenting with new production methods, they need to both assess whether a new practice is profitable and communicate its success to stakeholders inside and outside the business.

This session will cover:

-Why it matters which variables you choose to separate, and the different methods for doing so
-How to build a clean “enterprise P&L” by tracking overhead, direct costs, and income for each specific enterprise
-Using metrics, enterprises, and projects together to answer the questions you have about your operation
-How to tell the difference between an enterprise that feels profitable and one that actually is
