We’re excited to be running this year’s Services Fair as an Offers and Needs Market (OANM), a format developed by the Post Growth Institute to cultivate connection, mutual aid and reciprocity, to meet needs without feeling transactional. These are all-hands-on-deck times, and everyone has a part in collectively moving toward resilience. Anyone interested in supporting land stewardship — farmers, ranchers, land stewards, agencies & other organizations offering resources supporting land stewardship is invited to come to the first OANM being held in New Mexico! We especially hope this event is an opportunity for beginning, socially disadvantaged, veteran and limited resource farmers and ranchers to build relationships with other community members and technical assistance providers. This event aims to facilitate:
- strong bonds between people
- creativity and new possibilities
- less waste — one person’s surplus can be just what someone else needs
- feelings of abundance
- surfacing of hidden talents and resources
- fun & feel-good vibes
- a sense of ease for all personalities — connecting tends to come easier here!
